- Our Teens from an epidemic of medication abuse. Prescriptions and over-the-counter medications are among the most commonly misused drugs by teens.
- Our Young Children from a leading cause of accidental poisoning.
- Our Seniors from misuse and mistakes.
- Your Home. People may be looking for drugs in medicine cabinets.
- Our Environment. Medications disposed of down the toilet or in the trash end up in our water supplies and can damage our environment.
- Yourself. Ask your doctor or dentist for non-opioid alternatives and, if necessary, to clearly explain risks.

Placer County residents can drop off unused or expired medication and sharps every day for FREE between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Western Placer Waste Management Authority (WPWMA)’s public disposal facilities (3195 Athens Avenue, Lincoln, CA 95648).
