Household Hazardous Waste Disposal

Daily 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Placer County residents may drop off household hazardous waste (HHW) at no cost. Consistent with the Department of Transportation limitations and the WPWMA’s current operating permits, the WPWMA will not accept more than 15 gallons, or 125 pounds of hazardous waste per drop off from residents.

If your business generates no more than 220 lbs (100 kg) of hazardous waste per month, you may qualify as a Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generator (CESQG). For a fee, CESQGs may drop off materials at the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). For more information about the requirements for a CESQG and Very Small Quantity Generators (VSQGs), visit The US EPA Summary of Requirements for Very Small Quantity Generators (VSQGs) or email us at info@wpwma.ca.gov.
